Description of expected activity: With the increasing use of data in decision making, quality of information is becoming a critical factor, particularly in big data contexts (BDC). This justifies the development of a framework aimed to support the design and implementation of measurements, potentially in all possible scientific and application fields. The work, already started with an international research group, will continue with the contribution of the candidate in one or more of the following areas: foundations of measurement in BDC; characterization and formalization of the quality of measurement information in BDC; quality-oriented development of BDC measurement procedures; relationships between data acquisition and data-driven decision-making processes in BDC; validation of the framework in one or more application areas.
