The Foisie Business School atWorcester Polytechnic Instituteis seeking to
fill an Assistant Teaching Professor position in the Management Information
Systems (MIS) area. The selected faculty member will teach six courses
during the academic year, most likely three or four at the graduate level
in our MBA, M.S. in Information Technology, or M.S. in Data Science
program, and two or three in the B.S. in MIS program.  Graduate courses
meet for three hours one night a week.  Some graduate courses may be a
blended format meeting face-to-face for six hours during Week 7 and Week 14
on a Friday or a Saturday with the rest of the course
online.  Undergraduate MIS courses meet twice a week for two hours during
the day over a seven-week term. Research, especially that leading to
publication in refereed journals, is supported, and encouraged.  Rank will
be commensurate with experience. Multiple-year contracts will be considered
for the appropriate candidate and funding availability. Courses may
include: MIS 571, MIS 3720, MIS 500, BUS 3010.



The ideal applicant will have a PhD in MIS or a closely related area with
teaching interests related to data and its storage, analysis, and use in
businesses. The applicant should be prepared to teach our introductory MIS
and database courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and perhaps
Business Intelligence. ABDs may be considered.
