The 11th ACM SIGCHI Symposium on Engineering Interactive Computing Systems

**********************************************************************

18-21 June, 2019 - Valencia, Spain,

https://eics.acm.org/2019/

EICS 2019 is the eleventh international conference devoted to
engineering usable and effective interactive computing systems. Work
presented at EICS covers the full range of aspects that come into play
when "engineering" interactive systems, such as innovations in the
design, development, deployment, verification and validation of
interactive systems. Topics of interest include the design and
development of systems incorporating new interaction techniques and
multimodal interaction, multi-user, multi-device/screen,
multi-environment interaction, mobile and pervasive systems, large-scale
and big data applications, deployment of interactive systems, as well as
novel development methods and processes for improving the development of
interactive systems.

EICS 2019 focuses on models, languages, notations, methods, techniques
and tools that support designing and developing interactive systems. The
Conference brings together people who study or practice the engineering
of interactive systems, drawing from HCI, Software Engineering,
Requirements Engineering, Conceptual Modelling, CSCW, Ubiquitous /
Pervasive Systems.

The conference proceedings are published by the ACM and appear in the
ACM Digital Library.

Tracks:

*****

- Technotes:EICS Tech Notes are 6-page papers that focus specifically on
system contributions and technical work. Tech Notes are a venue to
elaborate on the technical aspects of research, which would typically
only be a short part of a longer article.

- Late-Breaking Results: Late-Breaking Results describe preliminary
results of ongoing research or incremental work that present new ideas,
concepts, systems or approaches. LBR will be published in the

conference's companion proceedings as 6-page papers. They are presented
as posters.

-Doctoral Consortium: The Doctoral Consortium (DC) provides an
opportunity for PhD students to present their research goals as well as
intermediate results and to discuss them with leading experts in the
field as well as with peers. Contributions are submitted in a 4-page paper.

- Tutorials: EICS’19 invites proposals for tutorials on challenging
topics of interactive systems engineering. The proposal should include a
two-page description of the proposed tutorial, accompanied by additional
information on the proposers’ background and three sample slides from
the presentation that you would give if your tutorial were accepted

- Workshops:

--7th Workshop on Interacting with Smart Objects (SmartObjects'19):
http://www.smart-objects.org/

--2nd Workshop on Charting the Way towards Methods and Tools for
Advanced Interactive Systems (HCI Engineering 2019):
http://ui-engineering.org/hci-engineering-2019

--1st International Workshop on Virtual Reality and Artificial
Intelligence in Medical Applications (VRAIMA 2019)

--Workshop on Research and Practice Challenges for Engineering
Interactive Systems while Integrating Multiple Stakeholders Viewpoints
(EISM 2019): https://sites.google.com/view/eisms19/home
