Special issue CFP on Advanced Issues in PLS path modelling: New Guidelines for Business and Information Systems Research in Industrial Management & Data Systems (IMDS)

The aim of this special issue of Industrial Management & Data Systems is to introduce these advanced methods and metrics to a wider audience in an effort to broaden the understanding of business and information systems applications. This special issue embraces both, the methodological side of PLS-SEM and empirical research using the advanced techniques. The special issue is tied to the conference of China Association for Information Systems (CNAIS) to be held on Oct. 11-14th, 2019 in Nanjing University, China. Outstanding papers presented at the conference will be invited for submission to the special issue. However, the guest editors also welcome submissions that have not been submitted to or presented at the conference.

This special issue focusses on complex research requires and advanced analytical methods of PLS-SEM, such as confirmatory tetrad analysis to empirically assess the mode of measurement, new approaches for testing discriminant validity, mediation and moderation, prediction-oriented segmentation analysis to identify and treat unobserved heterogeneity, prediction-oriented model selection to choose between models of varying predictive utility, and invariance testing by means of the measurement invariance of composite models approach (Liang and Shiau, 2018; Huang and Shiau, 2017; Shiau et al., 2019; Sharma et al., 2018, Hair et al., 2017b). In addition, for evaluating PLS-SEM results, many of the previously applied metrics results are still relevant but there is room for newer metrics and assessment techniques, such as recently proposed metrics (e.g., model comparison criteria) and methods (e.g., endogeneity assessment, latent class analyses, PLSpredict).

Topics include but are not limited to:

* Application and development of novel prediction metrics
* Applications and advancements of the original PLS-SEM algorithm (e.g., extended PLS, consistent PLS)
* Common method bias assessment
* Endogeneity assessment and treatment
* Measurement issues including confirmatory composite analysis (CCA)
* Analysis of complex model relationships involving nonlinear effects, multiple mediation, and/or moderated mediation
* Invariance assessment and multigroup analysis
* Applications and advancements of latent class procedures (e.g., FIMIX-PLS, PLS-Gas, PLS-POS, PLS-IRRS)
* Use of PLS-SEM in experimental research
* Application of PLS-SEM with archival (secondary) data
* Longitudinal data analysis
