The Department of Business Information & Technology in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants for an instructor position for the 2019-2020 academic year. This is a 9-month non-tenure-track appointment. Hiring is contingent on final budget approval.

Responsibilities: Effectively delivering course instruction, evaluating student learning, participating in related department activities, and complying with all College and University regulations. Instructors normally teach four 3-credit courses per semester. For this position, the instructor will be responsible for teaching on-ground and/or on-line sections that could include MIS 3210 Critical Thinking Using Analytics, MIS4760 Web Site Development, MIS 2845 Applied Program Development I, MIS 2749 Foundation/Information Systems, or other courses as needed.

Minimum Position Qualifications

Ph.D. in management information systems or related discipline is strongly desired. Candidates with an appropriate master’s degree (e.g., MBA) and significant related experience will be considered. Prior college teaching experience in critical thinking, programming, business analytics, and online instruction as well as experience advising student associations is desired.

The department is an academically diverse and professionally active group of 15 full-time faculty members. It offers the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in Business Information and Technology, and five graduate Certificate Programs. The College

The Fogelman College of Business and Economics has become a leading business school in the Southeast. Globalization is a strategic emphasis of the College.
