Dear colleagues,

As part of the PRODOK series of PhD seminars, the German Academic Association for Business Research is offering a course on "Theory and Theorizing in Information Systems Research" on July 16-19, 2019, in Hamburg, Germany.

The course focuses on (a) building a foundational understanding of what theory is and what role it plays in research, (b) developing basic theorizing skills and an initial familiarity with extant theorizing strategies, and (c) understanding strategies to develop and publish own theoretical contributions. For further details on the course, including a detailed syllabus and a registration link, please see the course homepage at:

https://vhbonline.org/veranstaltungen/prodok/kurse-2019/1905is01/

The course welcomes PhD students at all levels of their research and thesis projects and is open to students from any subject area or discipline (even though a large portion of readings, examples, and discussions will focus on the information systems / business and information systems engineering discipline as a subject area). Application deadline is June 02, 2019.

Beyond this course, the IS-specific program of PRODOK also includes a course on "Data Science as a Research Method." For a complete overview and access to further information, please see: http://vhbonline.org/veranstaltungen/prodok/

Please contact the PRODOK team at prodok(at)vhbonline(dot)org in case of questions or feel free to follow up with the lecturer.
