Description
The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a potential faculty position as tenure-track Assistant Professor in Information Management, starting in Fall 2020. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to high quality research and teaching in information management, including those with interests in business analytics, blockchain, IoT, and emerging fields. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in information management (or allied disciplines like computer science) or expect to complete their degree before Fall 2020. Those from allied disciplines are expected to publish in leading IS journals along with premier journals in their disciplines. Candidates who are in early years as assistant professors or in post-doctoral roles at research universities are strongly encouraged to apply. Irrespective of the research interests, candidates who can teach technical subjects such as programming, databases, data science, blockchain, machine learning, or other technical subjects will be given preference. As a campus with a continually growing diverse student body, we strongly encourage women, minorities, and individuals with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion to apply.

The McCombs School, with its top-ranked faculty and educational programs, offers a stimulating, collegial, and family-friendly environment for research and teaching. The Information Management group, which is part of the Information, Risk, and Operations Management (IROM) Department, offers information management and business analytics concentrations in the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD programs and runs two specialized MS programs in Business Analytics (MSBA) and Information and Technology Management (MSITM). The school's research centers, including centers on electronic commerce, analytics, entrepreneurship, marketing, and technology management, provide opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines and interact with industry.
