The IT department at HEC Montreal (http://www.hec.ca/en/) is hiring an
assistant, associate or full professor in information technology (IT).
Interviews will be organized with prospective candidates via Skype or
videoconference in November and December 2019. The recruiting committee is
composed of Prof. Suzanne Rivard, Prof. Camille Grange, Prof. Stefan Tams,
Prof. Ryad Titah (Chair of the committee) and the head of the IT
department, Prof. Gilbert Babin.

The IT department currently has 20 faculty members. It hosts four research
chairs (Research Chair in Digital Health, Research Chair in Strategic
Management of Information Technology, NSERC-Prompt Industrial Research
Chair in User Experience, Canada Research Chair in Digital Communication
and Multitasking), two research professorships, and several active research
groups (Research Group on Information Systems, ERPsim Lab, and Tech3Lab).
Our faculty includes current and former editors of top journals
including *MISQ,
JAIS, EJIS and Organization Studies.* We offer a large range of programs:

·         IT major in the undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce

·         Graduate diplomas in business analysis, e-business and UX

·         IT option in the MBA program

·         IT courses in Executive Education Programs

·         Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in Digital Transformation

·         Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in e-Commerce

·         Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in UX

·         Ph.D. in Information Systems



The IT department has close links with industry and HEC Montreal is a

Applicants for a position of assistant professor must have a Ph.D., or be
near completion of a Ph.D. in IT/MIS. They must demonstrate a strong
aptitude for research, a marked interest for publication, and good teaching
skills. Candidates for a position of associate or full professor must have
an excellent publication record and show teaching excellence. All
candidates must have a very good knowledge of technological environments
and of software applications commonly used in organizations. Priority will
be given to applicants with expertise in one of the following areas:
digital transformation, electronic commerce, digital business, or business
intelligence.

HEC Montreal is recognized as a world leader in business education. The
main language of instruction is French; however, there are several programs
and courses offered in English and in Spanish. Although knowledge of French
is preferable but not prerequisite, faculty are expected to be able to
teach and work in French after 2 years (and are provided with support, such
as private lessons and coaching, to help them reach this objective). It is
highly recommended to mention any prior knowledge of French or a related
language in your application file. Standard teaching load at HEC Montreal
is 4/year. Teaching load is reduced for those who are learning French.
