Description of the Position
The Department of Information Systems in the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno (Nevada), invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate level(s).  The appointment(s) will begin on July 1st 2020.

We are seeking academic professionals who will conduct and publish research related to information systems and teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should be able to develop and teach courses in some of the following areas:  System Analysis and Design, Project Management, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Processes & Analytics.  Responsibilities of the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, producing high quality publications in peer-reviewed journals, and participating in university and other service activities.  A productive research program is also required and must result in publications in high-quality journals. The department is open to various IS research areas and methodologies, although we are particularly interested in scholars whose work aligns with that of existing research faculty.

For appointment at the associate level, we are looking for a seasoned researcher with an established, ongoing research agenda currently generating publications in highly ranked journals in information systems.  An ideal candidate would also be interested in conducting service activities and serving in leadership roles in the department.  This position is perfect for a team-player who enjoys working with others to enhance the growth and strength of the organization.

Qualifications
For Appointment at Assistant Level

Required:

*       An earned Ph.D. (or strong evidence of completion of Ph.D.) in Information Systems or a closely related field by the hire date;

*       Research record showing potential to publish in the field's top journals;

*       Demonstrated ability to teach in face-to-face and/or online environments.

Preferred:
*       Experience with designing, developing, and/or delivering online courses;
*       Education and/or experience that provides a well-rounded knowledge in Business Analytics (e.g., education or work experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Processes & Analytics, Data Visualization);
*       Research record of publishing in and/or targeting the field's top journals;
*       Ability to conduct grant funded research.

For Appointment at Associate Level
Required:

*       Ph.D. in Information Systems or a closely related field;

*       Established research agenda evidenced through publications in peer-reviewed journals in top quality journals;

*       Demonstrated ability to teach in face-to-face and/or online environments.

Preferred:

*       Administrative and service experience at the college and university levels;

*       Experience with designing, developing, and/or delivering online courses;
*       Education and/or experience that provides a well-rounded knowledge in Business Analytics (e.g., education or work experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Processes & Analytics, Data Visualization);
*       Conducted grant funded research.

Department & College Information
The Department of Information Systems is located in the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno.  There are 11 faculty members in the Information Systems department.  The College of Business at Nevada is accredited by the AACSB for both its business and accounting programs.  The college has approximately 75 full-time faculty offering strong and cohesive undergraduate and graduate degree programs with 12 different majors available for undergraduate students, including a major and minor in Information Systems.  The college also offers an MBA, EMBA and 5 specialized master's degrees, including in Information Systems and Online Business Analytics.  The college has a PhD (doctoral) program in Economics and Business Administration.  Faculty from different disciplines in the college work together to study exciting and challenging topics, resulting in interdisciplinary publications and new course content.  Faculty in the College of Business also collaborate on research with faculty across the university campus in such diverse areas as medicine, health sciences, computer science and engineering, and political science. Information about Reno and the Surrounding Area:
Located where the Sierra Nevada meets the high desert of the Great Basin, the University's verdant, 290-acre campus is in Reno, Nevada.  Reno has been called America's adventure place for its scenic beauty.
