The LIRIS research group (https://bit.ly/2VpYDNz) at the Faculty of
Economics and Business of KU Leuven (Belgium) invites applications for two
(tenure track) assistant/associate professor positions in Business
Information Systems, starting in the fall of 2020. We are hiring the
following profiles:

* Research profile 1: Technological aspects of BIS, such as digital
technologies and ICT infrastructure, to complement current research and
offer synergies for ongoing research.

* Research profile 2: Management aspects of BIS, such as digital strategy,
business value of IT, digital transformation, IT governance, ethical and
privacy-related aspects of IT (non-exhaustive list), to complement current
research and offer synergies for ongoing research. A strong network in the
field of IS is an extra asset.



PROFILE:

You have earned a PhD in applied economics with a major in Business
Information Systems, a PhD in computer science, or a PhD in any other
relevant domain for research in Business Information Systems. The quality
of your research is demonstrated by publications in top international
peer-reviewed journals and/or conferences in this domain. Candidates have
at least 1 or 2 publications in top journals and/or in top conferences in
the domain.



OFFER:

The vacancy is primarily open to junior researchers.  Junior researchers
will be hired as assistant professor in tenure track for a period of 5
years, which in case of a positive evaluation is followed by an appointment
as a tenured associate professor.  In exceptional cases, hiring at the
level of associate professor can be considered. The Faculty of Economics
and Business has systematically been ranked highly by several independent
accreditation committees regarding the quality of its research and teaching
programs. The FEB has recently acquired the renowned EQUIS accreditation
and benefits from an extensive national and international network, both in
academia and in the business world. KU Leuven is Europe’s most innovative
university (Reuters ranking) and ranks 48th in the 2019 THE rankings. KU
Leuven is well set to welcome foreign professors and their family and
provides practical support with regard to immigration & administration,
housing, childcare, learning Dutch, partner career coaching, … To
facilitate scientific onboarding and accelerate research in the first phase
a starting grant of 100 000 euro is offered to new professors without
substantial other funding.
