The Ohio University College of Business is searching for one or more Tenure-Track Assistant Professors of Analytics and Information Systems (AIS) for the Fall of 2020. The positions seek candidates that have obtained, or will obtain by start date, a Ph.D. or are ABD with the ability to engage in a dynamic Information Systems and Analytics teaching and research environment. If ABD, candidates must obtain Ph.D. within one year of the start date. These positions will have a 4-courses/year load for the first two years and 5-courses/year after that. We are primarily interested in people with the ability to teach in business systems development (programming) areas, but we also value skills in business intelligence and analytics (predictive and prescriptive analytics).

The main campus is located amidst scenic state and national parks in a family-friendly and culturally rich community southeast of Columbus. The College of Business, recently ranked as the 15th best public business school by Bloomberg Businessweek, has an earned reputation in academic excellence, innovative learning and global experience, as well as small class sizes and close relationships among faculty, students, and community. Undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Business are accredited by the AACSB. The undergraduate business curriculum emphasizes applied learning and student engagement and includes MIS and Analytics majors. At the graduate level the college maintains a suite of MBA programs, and it has a Masters in Analytics program. There are also opportunities to work on custom professional programs in these areas. Internationally the college has summer graduate and undergraduate consulting experiences in countries such as Italy, Greece, Germany, Hungary, China, Brazil, Japan, France and Spain.
An ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse constituencies, locally, nationally and internationally is a must. Minimum Qualifications
Earned Ph.D. in Information Systems or related field by start date. ABD candidates will be considered. If ABD, candidates must obtain a Ph.D. within one year of the start date.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and the potential to contribute to curriculum development in Information Systems areas
Ability to contribute to the Department’s commitment to high-quality research in relevant areas
Ability to contribute to the service mission of the Department and College
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of ability to teach in Business Systems Development (Programming) areas
Skills and Experience in Business Intelligence, and Predictive & Prescriptive Analytics
