Frontiers of Process Aware Systems (FoPAS) 2020
Eindhoven, Netherlands
(in conjunction with IEEE EDOC 2020)

*****************************************

The international Frontiers of Process Aware Systems (FoPAS) workshop (https://yawlfoundation.github.io/foPAS), organised in conjunction with IEEE EDOC 2020, brings together researchers and practitioners working within process definition and execution phases of modern process aware systems and their wider enterprise environments.

Process Aware Systems (PAS) are software systems that manage and orchestrate operational processes involving human and non-human resources, applications, tools and information sources through the execution of process models. Processes and their executions can be considered as the ‘glue’ that binds PAS to enterprise systems, providing support for, and delivering insights into, enterprise-wide business processes. New ways to express and execute processes, and new software tools, methods, techniques and algorithms that extend current capabilities, are needed to project PAS into the new and emerging organisational challenges.

The ever-widening scope of PAS applicability has lately come to the forefront of PAS research. Explorations into integrations of PAS with blockchain networks, Internet of Things cloud computing platforms, and robotics (both software and hardware) is of great interest to business and research alike.

Submission Guidelines
-----------------------------
Papers should describe innovative and significant original research relevant to FoPAS as described in the list of topics below. Papers submitted for consideration must not have been published elsewhere and must not be under review or submitted for review elsewhere during the duration of consideration.

Workshop papers will be published by IEEE. All papers must be prepared in accordance with the IEEE double-column format (maximum 10 pages) and be submitted electronically (in PDF) via the submission website.

All submissions should include title, authors, and full contact information. Detailed instructions for authors are available on the IEEE website.

Please submit your paper to Easychair at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fopas2020

List of Topics
-----------------
Topics may include, but are not restricted to:
 - PAS and cloud technologies
 - PAS integration with blockchain
 - PAS and the Internet of Things
 - Process Modelling languages and semantics, particularly as they apply to the improved execution of models expressed in those languages (architectures and algorithms)
 - The role of Robotic Process Automation in business process automation
 - The application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to process automation, particularly to the fields of process flexibility, exception handling, resilience and robustness
 - Event streams, real-time data mining of process events for improved decision making capabilities
 - Performance comparisons and improvements in responsiveness, adaptability, security, etc.
 - Emerging architectures, particularly those developed for the better integration of PAS and ERP systems
 - Novel approaches to human-robot orchestrations, including the definition and development of blended workforce, work handover to robotic technologies (both software and hardware), shared workforce, management of human and non-human resources, definitions for richer work profiles.
 - Approaches to the monitoring of process executions, including dashboarding for systems involving a blended workforce.
