Department of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management

The Department of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater anticipates a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor level opening beginning August 2021. The hired candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in information technology and especially Cybersecurity as part of the Master of Cybersecurity, Master of Business Administration, and Information Technology Bachelor of Business Administration degree programs. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, clear evidence of scholarly potential, commitment to working with diverse populations and serving as an active member of the university community.

CYBERSECURITY CENTER FOR BUSINESS

UW-Whitewater is home to a Cybersecurity Center for Business (CCB) . The CCB offers cybersecurity education, training, and resources for businesses, educational institutions, and governments. Under the collaboration of CCB and cybersecurity faculty, UW-Whitewater has been awarded two significant federal grants worth over 3 million dollars in total. The Department of Defense (DoD) grant on Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) will provide training for the auditors and certifiers of the CMMC - the DoD's assessment and certification program - to ensure appropriate cybersecurity controls for DoD contractors in Wisconsin. The Department of Labor (DoL) grant on cybersecurity apprenticeship plans to train about 1,200 apprentices (with a focus on veterans, veteran spouses, and minorities) and place them in Wisconsin companies or organizations over 4 years. A good amount of them are expected to continue studying cybersecurity at 2-year technical colleges or 4-year colleges, including UW-Whitewater. Note that these grant-funded projects, along with the anticipated future CCB-led grant projects, will provide resources in instruction and practice for the faculty in the Cybersecurity academic programs.


DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The Department of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management (http://www.uww.edu/cobe/itscm) is one of the seven departments in the College of Business and Economics (http://www.uww.edu/cobe). There are 19 full-time faculty and staff members supporting nearly 400 undergraduate majors and 100 undergraduate minors with emphases in business analysis, data analytics, networking and security, and project management. The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is the largest business school in the state of Wisconsin. The College enrolls over 4,700 business undergraduate students with over 30 majors/emphases in the 2019-2020 academic year. Graduate programs offered include Masters of Business Administration (with 11 unique emphases), Masters of Professional Accountancy, Masters of Science in Finance, Masters in Environmental Safety and Health, Master of Business Analytics, Master of Cybersecurity and Doctorate of Business Administration.
