Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a number of vacant International Tenure Track Assistant Professorships at the Department of Digitalization.
​The Department of Digitalization is the largest of its kind in Europe. Our aspirations are equally ambitious for our research and for our degree programmes.
The Department of Digitalization cares about the interaction of people, data and technology in all of its manifestations. We study how individuals, groups, organizations and society can grow and prosper by capitalizing on digital technologies. The Department is looking for candidates with various profiles who can join into the academic discussion on information systems, data science, cyber security as well as contribute to critical perspectives on technology.
The Department’s research is organized to create opportunities for collaboration and to accommodate for the fast moving pace and radical innovation that characterizes the IT field. The faculty organizes its activities in research themes; for details on the present themes see the Department’s web-page. Themes are emergent, topical, popular, inter-disciplinary and dynamic in nature.
The Department of Digitalization has a strong position in the Information Systems community and ranks 1st in Europe and 5th worldwide in terms of publications in the AIS Senior Scholars’ ‘Basket of Eight’ journals. The vision of the department is to participate in meaningful collaboration with representatives from industry and society through engaged scholarship and to be the nexus of digital transformation at Copenhagen Business School.
Teaching responsibilities of the department include undergraduate and graduate teaching in Bachelor in Business Administration and Information Systems, MSc in Business Administration and Information Systems, MSc in Data Science, and the MSc in IT (eBusiness). The bachelor programme is taught in Danish whereas the Master programmes are taught in English.
​The assistant professorship is a tenure track position (6 years with a possibility of earlier assessment) with research and teaching obligations in accordance with Danish legislation and CBS regulations.
To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the applicant(s) chosen is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the teaching and research activities of the Department. The successful applicant is obliged to participate in the assistant professor program at CBS on teaching principles and methods in order to fulfill the pedagogical requirements made at the end of the term of employment as assistant professor.
Responsibilities

  *   Teaching and associated examination in existing CBS programs, including Executive Education
  *   Individual and group based research meeting high international standards
  *   Promoting CBS’s academic reputation
  *   Initiating, fund raising and coordinating research projects
  *   Promoting the teaching and research capabilities of Copenhagen Business School and other relevant assignments at Copenhagen Business School
  *   Contributing to the administrative responsibilities of the department and to CBS-wide tasks
  *   Communicating findings to the public in general and to CBS’s stakeholders in particular
  *   Research, including responsibility for the academic development of the relevant discipline
  *   Responsibility for publishing, scientific communication and research-based teaching
  *   Active participation in the regular research activities, such as research seminars, workshops and conferences.
​The assistant professor is expected to contribute to the development and application of the research of the department’s research areas and to maintain and strengthen CBS’s international research position.
Qualifications
The applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent. Emphasis is placed on the applicant’s research potential, which means that a researcher with a large research potential may be preferred to a researcher with a large research production.
The applicant must have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Tenure criteria are based on the department’s focus on Research, Education, External funding, Academic citizenship and Dissemination. The specific tenure requirements are based on a holistic assessment of the fulfilling of the REEAD criteria:
REEAD expectations at DIGI
The overall requirement is that the TT candidate develops a distinct academic profile and demonstrates academic autonomy. To achieve these requirements the candidate must:

  *   Publish in those journals recognized by the department as central to the profile of the department. Specifically, the TT candidate must target the Basket of 8 journals along with journals of high quality related to the chosen academic profile. The publication portfolio should demonstrate the distinct profile of the candidate and the majority of the publications should be in journals ranked at the AJG-list level 3 and above. For TT candidates affiliated with the Centre for Business Analytics publications should meet the specific academic requirements of the Computer Science domain and majority of the publications should from top-ranking Computer Science journals such as IEEE, ACM etc. journals.
  *   Publish at and attend conferences and academic events with a high reputation within the academic profile of DIGI.
  *   Demonstrate interest in and capabilities of teaching subjects related to aspects of digitalization. The capabilities must be reflected in the level of satisfaction in student-evaluations.
  *   Demonstrate ability in independently developing, conducting and administering course activities integrating elements of blended learning.
  *   Complete the assistant professor programme in pedagogics.
  *   Show interest in participating in externally funded research projects and team up with colleagues with similar academic profiles in research projects hosted at the department.
  *   Actively participate in the department’s research activities and -events.
  *   Establish a recognized position in the research community by actively contributing to community services such as reviewing and participating in workshops and events.
  *   Show ability to communicate research to practitioners and external stakeholders.
Continuous feed-back is provided to help the candidate assess their progress towards tenure and give candidates  advice on how to proceed.

Recruitment procedure
The Recruitment Committee will shortlist minimum two applicants; when possible five or more applicants will be shortlisted. The shortlisted applicants will be assessed by the Assessment Committee. All applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process shortly after the application deadline.
The applicants selected for assessment will be notified about the composition of the Assessment Committee and later in the process about the result of the assessment.
Once the recruitment process is completed each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application.
