Research Assistant Role at NUI Galway (Digital Transformation)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time one year position as a Research Assistant with Lero, Science foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software<https://lero.ie/> at the National University of Ireland, Galway.

This position is funded by NUI Galway and is available from 1st October 2021 to contract end date of 30th September 2022

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Noel Carroll to conduct research in the area of Digital Transformation. We will work towards developing new theoretical insights on managing and sustaining digital transformations.

Duties:

*         To provide assistance in conducting research activities, including planning, organising, conducting, and communicating research studies within the overall scope of a research project i.e. theoretical developments in digital transformation.

*         To coordinate and perform a variety of independent tasks and team activities involved in the collection, analysis, documentation and some interpretation of information/results.

*         Conduct literature and database searches and interpret and present the findings of the literature searches as appropriate.

*         To recruit and engage with industry practitioners involved in digital transformations.

*         Collaborate with colleagues on areas of shared research interest.

*         Assist in analysis and interpretation of results of own research.

*         To present information on research progress and outcomes to others responsible for the research project.

*         To advance theoretical development on digital transformation and contribute to the publication of findings.

*         Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, workshops and conferences.

Qualifications/Skills required:

Essential Requirements:

*         MSc in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Implementation Science, Business Analytics, Management, Social Science, or related disciplines

*         Excellent written and verbal skills

*         Ability to carry out research as part of a team

*         Experience working on technology-related projects

Desirable Requirements:

*         Experience in engaging with industry practitioners on projects

*         Experience using statistical analysis software (e.g., PLS SEM, SPSS, R)

*         Knowledge of current developments in digital transformation

*         Project management experience

*         Experience with organising seminars, workshops, and/or training events

*         Experience with gathering and analysing qualitative data (interviews, surveys, etc.)

Salary: 26,609 to 34,467 (euro)

Start date: Position is available from October 1st 2021
