The University of Memphis, Department of Business Information and Technology, is accepting applications for a full-time tenure-track position for an Assistant Professor in Information Systems.

Position: The Department of Business Information & Technology in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor in Business Information Systems, effective fall semester 2022, pending available funding.  Responsibilities include effectively teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing a stream of high-quality research, participating in Department activities, and fulfilling professional and university service duties. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and research interests in managerial and strategic aspects of information systems such as IT strategy, systems analysis and design, cyber ethics, and project management.

Qualifications: Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in MIS or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution or foreign equivalent (Advanced ABDs will be considered if degree completion is imminent). Potential candidates should have a willingness to teach both undergraduate and graduate levels, both in-person and online.  Qualified candidates will be expected to teach classes in managerial and strategic areas such as IT strategy, systems analysis and design, project management, and cyber ethics.  The successful candidate is expected to have a record of effective college teaching and commitment to teaching excellence, and evidence of development of a strong research program targeting leading journals in the field.
The College
The Fogelman College of Business & Economics has become a leading business school in the Southeast. Globalization is a strategic emphasis of the College. Degree programs offered include the BBA, MA (Economics), MBA, Executive MBA, MS, and Ph.D.  The academic programs of the College are fully accredited by AACSB International. The College currently serves approximately 3,500 students, with over 2,350 undergraduates, 1,100 master's students and 60 doctoral students.
