Merrill Warkentin and I have developed a fun and engaging online role-playing game to teach Information System concepts with a focus on cybersecurity. It is an inexpensive game that can be used alongside your MIS textbook to reinforce the concepts in the book. Students buy it direct from our website and use it directly over the Web (via a browser) with no need to download and install anything.

Students love the game because it is an interactive way to learn key IS and security concepts, rather than just reading about them. Students learn and apply their knowledge to solve problems, not just memorize facts. So they learn the concepts in context while playing.

Students play the role of a student intern at the headquarters of a pizza chain where they encounter four different quests centered around different security threats, but learn general IS concepts as they play. They select an avatar for themselves and interact with other characters in the game as they solve problems and play mini-games within the quests, all while trying to earn points to impress the boss in order to get a job offer after college! Students can play only one quest or all four as many times as they like. It's graphical and fun.

If you want to learn more, please contact us at m.warkentin at msstate.edu<mailto:m.warkentin at msstate.edu> or ardennis at iu.edu<mailto:ardennis at iu.edu>. We're happy to do a demo and/or provide a guest login so you can play with it. Our website is https://wisdomspringboard.com/

Thanks
Alan
