Dear members of the community with a special interest in Digital Innovation, Transformation and/or Entrepreneurship::

If you have not done so already, please make sure you sign up to join the opening ICIS SIG DITE Panel and Annual General Meeting scheduled for Sunday December 12 from 9:00-12:00pm (central time). You won’t want to miss our exciting panel discussion on Bridging the Art of Science in Theorizing DITE Phenomena and during the AGM we will vote in our new SIG DITE Executive members Jan Recker as SIG DITE Co-President and Julian Lehmann as SIG DITE Treasurer and Community Development.

The agenda for the meeting is below:

9:00-9:15am: Welcome (Ola Henfridsson). Visit the ICIS 2021 app to find the room location or the Zoom link if joining virtually.

9:15-10:30am: Bridging Art and Science in Theorizing DITE Phenomena. The panel discussion is structured around the idea of bridging art and science in theorizing phenomena related to digital innovation, transformation, and entrepreneurship (DITE). Manos Gkeredakis and Panos Constantinides as well as Robert Gregory and Ola Henfridsson have recently written about the topic of theory building as neither an art nor a science, but a craft and pragmatic exercise of combining both into a synergistic way. This is particularly important when seeking to investigate DITE phenomena which are novel yet poorly understood.

Facilitator: Ola Henfridsson, University of Miami.

Keynote speakers:

  * Panos Constantinides, Alliance Manchester Business School
  * Robert W. Gregory, University of Miami
