The Information Systems group at the University of Göttingen seeks to fill a position as Visiting Professor in Information Systems for the Summer Term 2022 (April – September 2022) and/or Winter Term 2022/2023 (October 2022 – March 2023).

The University of Göttingen is one of Germany’s premier research institutions with 30,000 students and 13,000 staff. As a name, the city of Göttingen has been linked with more Nobel Prizes than any other city in Europe – except for Stockholm, of course. Among the many personalities who were honored with the well-known research award, 45 were linked to Göttingen via their Curriculum Vitae. Located in the heart of Germany, it is close to the North Sea and major European
cities such as Frankfurt and Berlin, and the mountainous region of the Harz.

The Information Systems group at the University of Goettingen is characterized by extensive industry contacts. Research by current faculty has been published in outlets such as MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association of Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, European Journal of Information Systems, and others.

The visiting professor is expected to conduct ambitious research in Information Systems. The extent of the teaching is a maximum of 6 credits per term. The focus of the teaching is flexible. In particular, we are looking for suitable complements to the existing curriculum, for example in the areas of design and governance of digital services, business analytics, digital health, digital finance, or artificial intelligence in business.

The visiting professor position is paid according to the German W2 salary (~6100 €/month). The Göttingen International Welcome Center will assist in searching for housing and with other personal needs. German skills are not required.

The selection process will be done promptly after the application deadline and is mainly based on the submitted application documents. Please submit your application via email (cover letter, CV, teaching, and research statement; merged into a single PDF file) to the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Prof. Dr. Matthias Schumann: mschuma1 at uni-goettingen.de<mailto:mschuma1 at uni-goettingen.de> .

If you have any questions, please contact me by email at trenz at uni-goettingen.de<mailto:trenz at uni-goettingen.de>.

Sincerely,
Manuel Trenz
