BOOK: *Driving Socioeconomic Development with Big Data: Theories,
Technologies, and Applications*
EDITED BY PROF. DR. ZHAOHAO SUN
TO BE PUBLISHED BY IGI Global, USA
*Introduction*
Big data has become one of the most important frontiers for research and
development in academia and industries. Big data has also become the
strategic resource of an organization and a country. Big data technologies
have made significant progress since 2012 with the dramatic progress of
artificial intelligence and data science. As a kind of big data technology,
big data analytics is at the heart of any business, management,
decision-making, and socio-economic development. Big data and its emerging
technologies including big data analytics have been revolutionizing our
work, live styles, economies, and societies. Big data and big data
analytics have increasingly become critical elements for nearly all
industries and keys to a successful digital business and intelligent
business.
Socioeconomic development has drawn increasing attention in academia,
industries, and governments. The relationship between big data and its
technologies and socioeconomic development has drawn certain attention in
academia. The socio-economic development depends not only on big data but
also on big data technologies including big data analytics. However, the
following research challenges have not drawn much attention in academia and
industries. Why does big data matter to socioeconomic development? What is
the relationship between big data and socioeconomic development? How can
big data contribute to socioeconomic development? How can we apply big
data, big data technologies including big data analytics to expedite
socio-economic development? How can we use big data, big data technologies
including big data analytics to enhance digital services?
This book addresses the above-mentioned issues and challenges by exploring
the cutting-edge theories, technologies, and methodologies of big
data-driven socioeconomic development with applications, and highlights the
integration of artificial intelligence, business intelligence, intelligent
business, big data technologies, big data analytics, and analytics
intelligence from a perspective of computing, business, service, and
management. This book also provides an original and innovative
understanding of and insight into how the proposed theories, technologies,
and methodologies of big data can improve socioeconomic development and
sustainable development in terms of e-SMACS (electronic, service, mobile,
analytics, cloud, and social) business and services, healthcare, IoE (the
Internet of Everything), sharing economy, blockchain, 5G/6G technology,
cybersecurity, robotic automation, and Industry 4.0 in the real world. The
proposed approaches will facilitate research and development of big data,
big data technologies, intelligent analytics, big data analytics, data
science, digital transformation, e-business, digital service, service
computing, cloud computing, social computing, and more.

*Objective of the book*
This book titled “Driving Socioeconomic Development with Big Data:
Theories, Technologies, and Applications” aims to explore novel big data
theories, algorithms, technologies, methodologies, and applications for
driving socioeconomic development and sustainable development. The book
highlights at least two perspectives in terms of theories, technologies,
and applications. The first is from a perspective of big data and its
technologies to explore socio-economic development. The second is from a
perspective of socio-economic development to look at big data and its
technologies.

This is the first book titled “Driving Socioeconomic Development with Big
Data” to reveal the cutting-edge theories, technologies, methodologies, and
applications of big data, big data technologies including big data
analytics for promoting socioeconomic development and sustainable
development. This is also the first book demonstrating that big data and
big data technologies including big data analytics are at the center of
intelligent business, intelligent decision making, intelligent management,
digital transformation, governance, and services in the digital age.
Target audience
This book’s primary aim is to convey the theories, technologies, tools,
