Tenure track Assistant professor “Business Analytics and Data Management”

Are you an ambitious and outstanding scholar in the field of Information Systems, specifically regarding Business Analytics and Data Management?

At the KIN Center for Digital Innovation at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam’s School of Business and Economics (https://www.kinresearch.nl/), we seek to further increase our global visibility through top-level research in the field of Information Systems. Therefore, we are searching for a passionate colleague to further develop our research and teaching on business analytics and data management. The position is for a tenure track assistant professor who will contribute to our goal to be one of the leading academic groups in the area of digital innovation. For this opening, we are looking for a candidate with an ambition to conduct top-level research and teaching focusing on processes and tools to create business value from data. Relevant aspects can include, for instance, the challenges regarding data quality management, the implementation and management of new digital tools for data analytics and AI, data-driven business model innovation, and safeguarding the security and integrity of data and information systems.

We are looking for internationally oriented, ambitious, and collegial scholars who share our passion for the field of digital innovation and will contribute to our research and teaching. We welcome applications with a PhD in business administration, information systems, organization studies, or a related social science discipline. We are looking for candidates who combine knowledge of the business domain with a thorough understanding of digital technologies.

In terms of teaching, we offer an MSc Program in Digital Business and Innovation, with 150 new students in 2021. The program delivers in-depth knowledge on digital innovation, based on fundamental theoretical perspectives and a strong focus on implications for (and collaboration with) practice. Furthermore, we offer courses on information systems, digital innovation, new ways of working, and research methods in the BSc programs in (International) Business Administration as well as several courses in the doctoral program of the Amsterdam Business Research Institute at the School of Business and Economics. This position will involve, among other things, teaching courses on Business Intelligence and Analytics and research methods.
