The Information Technology (IT) department at HEC Montreal hires an assistant, associate, or full professor. The recruiting committee comprises Professors Ana Ortiz de Guinea Lopez de Arana, Suzanne Rivard (Chair of the committee), Stefan Tams, Gregory Vial, and Gilbert Babin (Department Chair).

HEC Montreal is recognized as a world leader in business education. The IT department currently has 19 faculty members. It hosts five research chairs, four research professorships, and several active research groups (Research Group on Information Systems, ERPsim Lab, and Tech3Lab). We offer an extensive range of programs:


  *   IT major in the Bachelor of Commerce
  *   Graduate diplomas in business analysis, e-business, and UX
  *   IT option in the MBA program
  *   Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in Digital Transformation

  *   Ph.D. in Information Systems

Applicants for an assistant professor position must have a Ph.D. or be near completion of a Ph.D. in IT/MIS. They must demonstrate a strong aptitude for research, a significant interest in publication, and good teaching skills. Candidates for associate or full professor positions must have an excellent publication record and teaching prowess. All candidates must be knowledgeable about technological environments and software applications commonly used in organizations. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in one of the following areas: digital transformation, electronic commerce, digital business, or business intelligence.

The primary language of instruction is French. Although knowledge of French is not a prerequisite, faculty are expected to be able to teach and work in French within two years after their appointment. Faculty who are not fluent in French are provided with ample support to help them reach this objective and a personalized program for learning French. It is highly recommended to mention any prior knowledge of French or a related language in your application file.
