[AISWorld] Inviting Applications to our Ph.D Program (IT) at HEC Montreal

Dear Colleagues:

We are inviting applications to our Ph.D. program (Information Technology) for the fall semester of 2023.  We have one admission period yearly. The next application deadline is January 6, 2023 for the Fall 2023 admission, and details on the application process are available at https://www.hec.ca/en/programs/phd/index.html

We are particularly interested in students holding at least a master’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, psychology, human-computer interaction, information systems, data science, neuroscience, or a related field. Desirable (but not required) qualifications include any among experimental research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, data analytics/visualization, data mining, machine learning, programming, web/graphic design skills, design/development of technology applications, and virtual reality / augmented reality. Experience with eye-tracking, brain-computer interfaces, and other neurophysiological methods is a plus


The PhD program at HEC Montreal

HEC Montréal's PhD program is well-suited to those with an academic background from the administration or technology fields  and who have strong interest and aptitude for research. Our program ss offered in partnership with McGill University and Concordia University, and one of the city’s French- speaking universities, Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). As a result, PhD courses are offered in both English and French, but you can complete all your courses and your dissertation in English, if you wish.

Financial support provided to our PhD students

- Funding of $25,000 per year,  mostly in the form of untaxed scholarships
-Tuition fee waiver for a 4-year-period for all students
- Additional sources of revenue (including 1 to 2 teaching assignments during the 3rd or 4th year)
- Financial aid to participate in scientific activities (conference, doctoral consortium, summer school, writing workshop and job fairs)
- Additional support offered by the university: Welcoming sessions for newly admitted students; Scholarship preparation workshops; Workshops and personalized coaching by the library; Research Integrity workshop; Mentoring program for teaching; Free French courses
