Workshop on AI/ML for Cybersecurity

Overview

The increasing reliance on technology has made cybersecurity a significant challenge in modern society. To keep up with the constantly evolving threat landscape, researchers and professionals in academia, industry, and government use vast amounts of data to detect and combat new adversarial threats and actors. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) play a vital role in analyzing this large and diverse cybersecurity data and developing systems for critical tasks, including detecting network intrusions, prioritizing vulnerabilities, optimizing remediation decisions, and predicting future threats posed by adversarial behavior evolution. However, the unique characteristics of cybersecurity data and the piecewise application of AI/ML systems present significant challenges, such as the need for security, explainability, resiliency, robustness, scalability, and human-machine collaboration. This workshop aims to further the field of AI/ML-based cybersecurity by fostering cross-disciplinary partnership and understanding between AI/ML researchers and cybersecurity experts through sharing new research on theoretical and practical aspects of cybersecurity, such as novel methods and technologies, system implementation, and future direction papers.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
•     Deep Learning/Deep Reinforcement Learning Methods for Cybersecurity Defenses
•     Cyber Vulnerability Prioritization and Remediation
•     Network Intrusion Detection and Mitigation
•     Red Team Evaluation of Cyber Defense Systems
•     Adversarial Behavior Modeling
•     Game Theoretical Cybersecurity Models
•     Representation Learning for Cybersecurity Applications
•     Interpretable and Robust Autonomous Cyber-Systems

Submission Instructions
Papers must be written in English and should not exceed 8 pages, inclusive of figures, tables, references and appendix using IEEE Conference Proceedings Manuscripts style (two-columns, single-spaced, 10 fonts). The materials presented in the papers should not be published or under submission/review elsewhere. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings and will be eligible for submission to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register the paper at the conference.
Paper templates can be downloaded from the IEEE website (https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html).
