This is a fantastic research, training and career development opportunity for postdoctoral researchers featuring:

The programme aims to provide exceptional training and career development opportunities to postdoctoral researchers, fostering international mobility, intersectoral collaboration, and interdisciplinary exposure. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is not mandatory. Applications are open to candidates from complementary disciplines provided their proposal has received the support of an eligible SyMeCo supervisor<https://symeco.lero.ie/supervisors/>.

All fellowships will be based in Ireland where fellows will be hosted by their SyMeCo supervisor’s host institution.

Eligibility criteria

On the call deadline, 3rd of October 2023:

  *   Applicants must be postdoctoral researchers as per the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) definition: applicants must have a PhD degree at the call deadline.
  *   Applicants must comply with the following mobility rule: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Ireland for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline. Compulsory national service and/or short stays, such as holidays, are not considered when assessing mobility compliance. In addition, for applicants who applied/are applying for refugee status in Ireland, the time spent in that process will not count as a time resident in Ireland.

Evaluation & Selection Process

Fellows will be recruited via an internationally advertised open call for proposals. The evaluation and selection process will follow open, transparent and merit-based procedures to ensure that all applications are evaluated in a competent and impartial manner. It will include an international peer review followed by an interview stage.

Employment as a SyMeCo fellow
The total gross salary awarded to fellows will be €50,124 per annum (without family allowance) and €56,604 per annum (with family allowance).
