Invitation to the 6th Nordic Workshop on Digital Foundations of Business, Operations, Strategy, and Innovation (DBOSI’24)

Copenhagen Business School – February 15-16, 2024

Submission deadline: November 24, 2023,
Extended abstract of no more than 2000 words (excluding references and tables).
Notification of acceptance: December 8, 2023.

The 6th Nordic Workshop on Digital Foundations of Business, Operations, Strategy, and Innovation (DBOSI’24) aims to bring together scholars from a range of disciplines such as information systems, computer science, strategy, entrepreneurship, and others, with research interests on digital foundations of business, operations, strategy, and innovation. The call is open to submissions on a variety of related topics, but we especially aim to bring together papers exploring digital foundations in the context of sustainable development.

DBOSI’s main purpose is to help junior and senior scholars with the development of their early work. The workshop is an open forum where participants will have an opportunity to present and discuss their work in progress, build professional network with like-minded people, exchange innovative ideas and overall, keep up to date on the developments within the research field. We invite submissions from multiple theoretical and disciplinary perspectives. This call is open to conceptual papers and empirical studies based on in-depth interviews, cases, surveys, secondary and “big” data, etc. We welcome submissions from experienced well-established scholars in collaboration with young scholars and doctoral students alike.

We welcome submissions on themes connected, but not limited, to:

  *   Digital foundations for value
  *   Infrastructures and data
  *   Digital transformation and innovation
  *   Strategic agility in digital transformation
  *   Processes for creating digital objects

Participants are expected to be present throughout the workshop, comment on each other’s work and actively contribute to the discussions.

In addition to paper presentations there will be a panel debate and keynotes by both academics and practitioners:

If you are interested in presenting your ongoing research and receive feedback from leading scholars in the field, please submit an extended abstract of no more than 2000 words (excluding references and tables). It is likely that a conference fee of DKK 1500 (+VAT) will be charged in addition to the cost of transport and accommodation. However, the conference fee will be reduced if external funding is secured. The 6th DBOSI workshop follows the successful editions at Aalto University, Stockholm School of Economics, Umeå University, University of Stockholm, and Oslo University. DBOSI ́24 is hosted by the Department of Digitalization, Copenhagen Business School. Local organizers are Ben Eaton, Jonas Hedman, and Attila Márton.
