With around 48,000 students and around 5,000 employees, the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt/Main is one of the largest universities in Germany. Founded in 1914 by citizens of Frankfurt and since 2008 again in the legal form of a foundation, Goethe University has a high degree of independence, openness, and subject diversity. As a comprehensive university, Goethe University Frankfurt offers over 100 courses of study on five campuses in a total of 16 faculties and at the same time has an outstanding research strength.
The Chair of Information Systems and Information Management, Department of Economics and Business Administration at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main is seeking to fill two positions at the earliest possible date for a
Research assistant (m/f/d)
(E 13 TV-G-U, 75% part-time)
initially limited until 30th April 2026. The classification is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U). This position is part of the BMWK-funded project
"COMET - Consumer Empowerment and Participation in the Smart Living Domain".

Prerequisites are:
·       a university degree with very good grades in business informatics, industrial engineering, computer science, business administration, or economics
·       a keen interest in current developments in the field of applied artificial intelligence, platform economics, data science, and/or internet technologies
·       Very good written and spoken English skills
·       Very good knowledge of the German language
·       Independence, ability to work in a team, and flexibility
·       Experience in business practice is also an advantage

Our research results have been published in leading scientific journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Business & Information Systems Engineering, Decision Support Systems, and Electronic Markets.

As part of your work, you will be involved in the research focus areas of the professorship. These are in the field of applied artificial intelligence (e.g., the professorship is involved in the AI innovation competition of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, evaluates user preferences for applied AI, and has set up a smart living platform with companies such as Bosch; there are also research projects in cooperation with the University Hospital in the field of AI), digital business and ecosystems, data analytics, platform economics, digital business models, digital ethics, and information management. You will be responsible for scientific tasks as well as the planning and implementation of projects, the results of which you will be able to present at national and international conferences. You will have adequate time for your doctorate and for your personal research interests.
