Reminder: DIET Forum at ICIS 2023

=============================================================================

Dear Colleagues,

The International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) 2023 in
Hyderabad is excited to host the Digital Innovation, Entrepreneurship, And
Transformation (DIET) Forum. The ancillary event will be held on Sunday,
December 10 and 09:00 – 18:00 IST (UTC +5:30) at the Hyderabad
International Convention Centre, Hyderabad, India.

The broad goal of the DIET forum is for practitioners from the information
systems (IS) industry and IS academic researchers to meet and understand
each other’s work. Though both groups, practitioners and academics, have
synergies, IS conferences traditionally have not enabled a forum for them
to interact, learn from each other, and gain insights. This forum aims at
initiating this interaction through research presentations, round table
discussions, pitching competitions, panel discussions, and keynote talks.

We welcome participants from both industry and academia to broaden their
interactions with each other through this inaugural DIET forum which will
provide key outcomes that have long term impacts for both research and
practice. Some specific takeaways from the forum would be:

   - Insights from leading experts and digital enabled start-ups.
   - Policy, research, and practical implications for both academic
researchers and practitioners on IT/IS products and services.
   - Broadening interactions and enhancing awareness about current
   activities and trends.

The program agenda of the DIET forum will focus on two key domains:

1. Entrepreneurship and Startups – focus on IT products and services
startups, the innovations that are underway and being planned, and the
challenges faced by entrepreneurs.

The Entrepreneurship and Startups track will include a start-up pitching
event that will present novel initiatives, leveraged through IS, undertaken
in the Indian and global start-up ecosystem.

2. Digital Transformation and Citizen Services – Focus on issues of
digitalization in firms and organizations, and on the vast scope of
enabling citizen services through digital platforms, understand the
challenges of high-scale, high-diversity populations (as in India).

The Digital Transformation and Citizen Services will feature invited
presentations and a call for papers that discuss critical advancements in
government led digitization efforts aimed at improving citizen services.

The DIET Forum will also feature two Masterclasses from leading industry
experts.

   - In Masterclass I, Kartik Hosanagar, John C. Hower Professor, The
Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, will discuss AI’s impact on
creator economy, how Generative AI can help to reshape creative industries
and how creators and managers will need to adapt to the coming AI
   revolution.
   - In Masterclass II, Ajay Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Former Secretary of
Defense, Government of India, will discuss the Defense Innovation Ecosystem
   in India and its future.

In addition, a welcome reception will provide networking opportunities for
both industry and academic participants to engage with each other.
