Lamar University is hiring for Fall 2024.


 The College of Business at Lamar University is actively seeking candidates for three tenure-track faculty positions in the field of Management Information Systems (MIS). This nine-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor is set to commence in August 2024. An Associate Professor may also be considered.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with teaching software-intensive MIS courses, both on-campus and online, across our BBA, MBA, and MS in MIS programs. Lamar University is a proud member of the SAP University Alliances. Qualified candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Information Systems (or be near completion by the start date) or a directly related field from an AACSB-accredited school. A strong interest in teaching SAP-enabled MIS courses is essential, and candidates must be SAP TS/410 certified or willing to obtain certification within a year of appointment.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience) 
Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related field
Strong interest in teaching SAP-enabled MIS courses
SAP TS/410 certification or willingness to obtain it within a year
Excellence in research, demonstrated by quality refereed publications
Leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of college and departmental programs
Active participation in department, college, and university committees
Ability to teach graduate and undergraduate MIS courses, including Business Intelligence, E-Commerce, Systems Analysis and Design, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity Management, and Python Programming.
