<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">The systematic design and engineering
of artifacts is not restricted to software and other IT components. Being
the conceptual foundations for IT requirements, artifacts on the strategic</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">and organizational levels have to be
systematically designed and engineered as well. Organizational design and
engineering aims at researching concepts, methods and</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">technology in order to understand, model,
develop and analyze all important aspects of changing organizations. As
a whole, it focuses on understanding the relationships and</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">dependencies between strategy, business
processes and the supporting software systems. It encompasses several multi-disciplinary
topics, including modeling business</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">goals and processes, formalizing enterprise
ontologies, representing information system services and identifying best
practices and patterns.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">The focus of this minitrack is on approaches
which deal with relating both business and technological aspects of an
organization. The organizational design and engineering</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">minitrack provides an opportunity for
researchers, academics or practitioners interested in organizational modeling,
methodologies and tools to present their solutions, exchange</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">their ideas and discuss open issues
and future directions.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">HICSS conferences are devoted to the
most relevant advances in the information, computer, and system sciences,
and encompass developments in both theory and practice. Accepted papers
may be theoretical, conceptual, tutorial or descriptive in nature. Those
selected for presentation will be included in the Conference Proceedings
published by the IEEE Computer Society, and carried by Explore, the IEEE
Digital Library (</font><a href=http://computer.org/press><font size=2 face="sans-serif">http://computer.org/press).</font></a>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Submissions must not have been previously
published or be under submission elsewhere; all submissions undergo a double-blind

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Abstracts are optional. You may contact
the Minitrack Chair(s) for guidance or verification of content. If you
are not sure of the appropriate minitrack, submit an abstract to the Track
Chair(s) for determination. </font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">You may submit a paper to only one Minitrack.
Duplicate submissions may be rejected by any or all minitracks, without
consultation with author.</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">An individual may be listed as author/co-author
on no more than 6 submitted papers. Track Chairs must approve any names
added after submission.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Important Deadlines: </font>
<br>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">June 15 Submit full manuscripts for
review. The review is double-blind; therefore this submission must be without
author names.</font>
<br>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Aug 15 Acceptance notices are emailed
to authors by the Review System. (Make sure your server accepts the address.)
At least one author of each accepted paper must immediately make plans
to attend the conference, including initiating fiscal, visa, or other travel
guarantees.</font>
<br>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Sept 15 Accepted authors submit Final
Paper. At least one author of each paper should register by this date.
This is the Early Registration fee deadline.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">New Date! Oct 15 Papers without at least
one registered author will be deleted from the Proceedings; authors will
be so notified by the Conference Office.</font>
