<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Garamond","serif"">Information systems (IS) project outsourcing remains an important and effective component of organizational strategy. Numerous organizations have realized the benefits
provided by IS project outsourcing, including the ability to focus on core competencies, achieving reductions in human resource costs, and flexibility in tapping into technical expertise when needed. Despite these gains, there continues to be significant variation
in the success of outsourced IS projects. Academic and practitioner literature point to persistent challenges associated with the management of outsourcing work. IS project teams are the unit primarily charged with delivering the services outlined in outsourcing
contracts between the client firm and its vendor. IS project teams face numerous challenges in developing and delivering software services across organizational boundaries. As a result, IS projects continue to face missed deadlines, budget overruns, poor quality,
and functionality that fails to meet client requirements. Given the critical role that IS project teams play in integrating business domain and technical knowledge at the client-vendor boundary, it is important to understand the challenges that they face and
to identify mechanisms that enable to overcome these barriers to effectiveness. In light of these issues, this mini-track invites submission of papers that focus on the challenges and/or interventions that affect IS project teams in outsourcing relationships.
We are particularly interested in submissions that shed light on the challenges that exist in the task environment as well as IS project team-focused solutions that are designed to enhance effectiveness and team member outcomes in this context.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
