The main research focus of the department is Information Systems and Empirical Software Engineering. The IS faculty members of the department have published research in leading IS journals, such as MIS Quarterly, ISR, JMIS, JAIS, European Journal of IS, ISJ, and I&O. IS scholars of the department are ranked highly in terms of research productivity among European universities (e.g., Lin & Gregor 2009; PAJAIS). The department has strong and active research connections to IT industry. The teaching load depends on the research merits of the applicants.
