to the model we know as the “Zachman Framework.”  I have not seen the final version but I can safely say that the logic of Zachman’s enterprise ontology in this new version will be the same as it has always been.  Moreover, the familiar graphical representation
as a six-sided matrix will be unchanged.  In the last version I saw, the terminology and labeling was improved to clarify the role of the “framework” as a model for enterprise knowledge and a thinking tool for management; moreover, it illuminated the importance
of knowing the architecture of an enterprise in order to achieve goals like alignment and integration.  Furthermore, the graphic itself showed how the individual cells are interrelated, and thus how architectural artifacts are ideally interconnected to provide
the enterprise with capabilities like agility and speed.  I really do look forward to the release the “New Zachman Framework” and believe it will be another step forward on the long journey of creating Information Age organizations that John Zachman started
us on nearly 30 years ago.  So whether or not you are among those lucky enough to be able to attend this event, keep your eyes open for this one.
