Revised Call for Participation<BR>
<BR>
The AIS Special Interest Group on Grounded Theory Methodology (SIGGTM) is delighted to invite you to participate in the 5th International Workshop on GTM Research at ICIS (GTMW2011) in Shanghai, China. Wednesday, December 7th 2011, between 13:00 hours and 18:00 hours at the Conference Hotel.(*)<BR>
The workshop has been designed to provide a developing environment to IS grounded theorists, from beginners to advanced researchers. The workshop’s goal is to enable the discussion of GTM-related practical issues in a friendly, constructive and learned atmosphere.<BR>
<BR>
The first part of the workshop will focus on the plurality of grounded theory research in Information systems. The keynote presentation by Walter Fernandez and Natalia Levina will focus on what constitutes good grounded theory research.<BR>
<BR>
The second part will have three invited speakers. Joost Wolfswinkel and Elisa Mattarelli will talk about their respective forthcoming articles on the EJIS Special Issue on Grounded Theory. These two presentations will be thought-provoking as they push the boundaries of GTM research. Following the theme of diversity, Theresa Edgington will show how to conduct a grounded theory study using quantitative data.<BR>

Finally, we will have a session showcasing GT research (see program below).<BR>
This forum provides the opportunity for interaction and feedback among expert and learning grounded theorists. Those interested in participating please send a 100-200 words abstract to walter.fernandez@anu.edu.au for scheduling purposes.<BR>

(*) Please note that this year we are departing from our tradition of a pre-ICIS workshop. Since ICIS2011 has been scheduled earlier than usual, to facilitate the attendance of colleagues with teaching commitments in the USA and elsewhere we will run the workshop immediately after the closure of the main ICIS conference.<BR>
