Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite your submissions to the AMCIS 2012 – 18th
Americas Conference on Information Systems, Seattle, Washington
August 9-12, 2012.

Track: Research Methods
Minitrack: Grounded Theory

http://amcis2012.aisnet.org/

Description:
----------------
Grounded Theory Methodology (GTM) is a systematic approach,
supported by a set of well-defined tools (e.g. coding, memoing,
constant comparison), with the goal of developing an understanding
of usually little known social phenomena. Observed patterns can then
be proposed as theory, (Glaser & Strauss, 1967), and such theory
is grounded in data. According to GTM, "all is data", including
qualitative and quantitative data (Glaser & Strauss, 1967).

This track welcomes papers based on either the Glaserian school
(Glaser, 1978, 1998; Glaser & Strauss, 1967) or the Straussian
school (Strauss, 1987; Strauss & Corbin, 1990, 1997, 1998).

We are looking for two types of papers:
1/ Those whose aim is the examination of MIS phenomena using GTM.
Such examination may include theoretical development, at various
levels related to MIS research area (e.g. IT usage, IT personnel, IT
implementation) or the use of less common forms of GTM (e.g. Formal
Grounded Theory, (Glaser, 2007)).
2/ Methodological developments related to GTM are also welcome,
especially those developed to answer specific MIS questions.
