The systemic upheaval that has impacted financial systems worldwide has given rise to the need to establish open standards for regulatory frameworks, audit guidelines, maturity models and related ontology, process, and data models. A consortium of researchers from University College Cork (AFIS-BIS), Trinity College Dublin (School of Computer Science and Statistics), University College Dublin (Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School), and the Irish Management Institute were successful in securing research funding from Enterprise Ireland to establish the Financial Services Governance, Risk and Compliance Competence Centre (GRC3) at UCC. </span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'>The funding permitted the establishment and recruitment of a comprehensive project team for GRC3 consisting of 1 Senior Research Fellow, 3 Research Fellows, 3 Post-doctorate Researchers, 3 Research Assistants, and 3 Industry practitioners. The team will be guided by 4 principal investigators from participating institutions in year 1. </span><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'> The project will run initially for an initial lead-in period of 1 year; hence, successful applicants will be offered a one year contract.
