<p class="MsoNormal"><a href="http://www.ucd.ie/">University
College Dublin</a> invites applications for a
temporary 5-year appointment for the position of Chair in the
Management
Information Systems (MIS) Subject Area. Specifically, we are
seeking candidates
who can offer leadership in one of the two key strategic areas
within the MIS
group; namely, either:</p>
(i) Business Analytics<br>
<b>or
</b><br>
(ii)
Information Systems and Organisation
<p class="MsoNormal">The
appointee will be a member of the <a href="http://mis.ucd.ie/">MIS
Subject Area</a> within the <a
href="http://www.ucd.ie/business/">UCD School of Business</a>.
UCD is the largest university in Ireland,
with over 23,000 students from Ireland and over 100 countries. UCD
School of
Business is the leading business school in Ireland and the only
one to hold the
triple crown of accreditation from AACSB (US), EQUIS (Europe) and
AMBA (UK). </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The MIS Subject
Area hosts two UCD constituted research centres - the Centre for
Innovation,
Technology & Organisation (CITO - <a
href="http://mis.ucd.ie/cito">http://mis.ucd.ie/cito</a>)),
and the UCD Centre for Business Analytics (CBA) - <a
href="http://mis.ucd.ie/cba">http://mis.ucd.ie/cba</a>)
- which represent its two key strategic research and teaching
foci. The
appointee should be an internationally recognised specialist in
one of these
two areas, whilst also being able to play a leadership role within
the context
of the broader Subject Area and the School as a whole.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">MIS is a
major contributor to the UCD Business School’s undergraduate,
postgraduate and
executive education programmes. This includes the BComm, the MBA,
and the PhD
programmes and, in particular, the <a
href="http://www.ucd.ie/smurfitschool/businessanalytics/">MSc in
Business Analytics</a> and
the <a
href="http://www.smurfitschool.ie/mastersprogrammes/innovationthroughict/mscinibusiness-innovationthroughict/">MSc
in iBusiness</a>.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The
successful applicant will contribute to the School’s objectives by
engaging in
scholarly activity through research, publication, and teaching and
to contribute
to the development of the School’s profile in teaching, research
and innovation
in the MIS subject area (in either Information
Systems and Organisation <b>or</b> Business Analytics),
particularly
in collaboration with colleagues in one or both of the research
centres
described above.. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Salary Scale: €102,244 - €131,357 p.a.
Appointment will be made on scale
and in accordance with the Irish Department of Finance guidelines</p>
