<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none;"><span><br />Strategic Innovations in Healthcare Management that emphasizes Citizen-centric Health </span><span>Systems, Processes, and Practices, has the capability to empower citizens to personally mange their health and interact with the healthcare providers. Technology is becoming an important enabler for citizens as health care consumers that could fundamentally change their relationship within healthcare organizations. For example, Personal Health Records (PHRs) are allowing patients to manage their health-related information. Telehealth initiatives are increasing the reach of citizens to a wider array of health services, especially in remote or underserved areas. Furthermore, mobile technologies are providing pervasive support and guidance not available to those patients in the past. As citizen-centric health systems help engage citizens in their own healthcare and empower them in their interactions with healthcare organizations, we will begin to observe fundamental changes in how healthcare organizations strategically rearrange themselves and innovate to better serve this new ‘consumer’ profile.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;"><font face="Calibri" size="3"></font></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none;"><span><br />The empowerment accommodated by these innovations may also challenge traditional role relations not only between citizens and healthcare professionals but also among healthcare professionals. Specifically, these innovations may alter traditional healthcare routines, shift industry structures, and impact institutionalized roles and patterns of interaction in new and mostly unexpected manners. For example, from a socio-material perspective, material construction of these technologies into healthcare systems create and shift social outcomes, yet social outcomes of these innovations recreate and change the material construction of these technologies. Therefore, it is very important to study the use, development and adoption of these new systems and related organizational adaptation in healthcare organizations. While, we are not specifically after studies from socio-material perspective, studies may focus on new technologies, processes, organizational routines or professional practices across the healthcare industry spawned by citizen-centric health technologies considering only social, or material dimensions, or both.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none;"><span><br />Because of the fundamental nature of the track, we invite papers that address </span><span>conventional or unconventional problems of healthcare innovations with a multidisciplinary perspective employing diverse approaches (qualitative or quantitiative), </span><span>levels of analysis and research orientations.</span></p>
