Dinur and Nissim (2003) derived results to show that when responses are provided from masked data, these responses could be used to accurately reconstruct the original data unless the perturbation is relatively large. We investigate the impact of the Dinur-Nissim results for masking mechanisms that provide interval responses to queries instead of the traditional point responses. Results indicate that masking mechanisms that provide interval responses are likely to be compromised more easily than traditional masking mechanisms.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Biography of the Keynote Speakers. Krish Muralidhar is Gatton Research Professor in the School of Management, Gatton College of Business & Economics at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Muralidhar has published over 30 articles including six articles in Management Science. His papers have also been published in Decision Sciences, ACM Transactions on Database Systems, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics and others. Dr. Muralidhar was recently selected to receive the inaugural Distinguished Doctoral Alumni Award from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Rathindra Sarathy is Ardmore Chair and Professor of Information systems in the Department of Management Science and Information Systems at Oklahoma State University. The paper/presentation focuses on the framing effects of cloud security announcements. The key research question addressed by this paper is: How should organizations frame cloud security announcements so that they have the least amount of negative impact? The work will also highlight the methodology used to derive the results.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Biography of the Invited Speaker. Raj Sharman is an Associate Professor in the Management Science and Systems Department of the State University of New York at Buffalo. His expertise is in the areas of Patient Safety and Health Care Systems, Information Assurance and the use of biologically inspired computer security models, Disaster Preparedness and Response Management, Technology Valuation and Performance, and Medical Imaging Systems. He has published widely in National and International journals and is the recipient of several grants from university and external agencies, including the National Science Foundation. He received his PhD in Computer Science and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Louisiana State University.
