<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Trust in information systems is a central concept in facilitating adoption and use. While there is a rich literature on interpersonal trust in the marketing and communications
literature, as well as a robust literature on institutional trust in the management literature, much of what we know about trust in IS contexts is derived from the views promulgated through literatures other than our own. For this reason, the conceptualization
of trust in information systems needs to be clarified and expanded. In this way, the unique aspects of trust and credibility in the technology interface will be better understood, and our research on adoption, use and continuance will be greatly expanded.
