<div>Minitrack: <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">BUSINESS</span> <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">PROCESS</span> INTELLIGENCE</div><div><br></div><div>According to a recent report by Gartner research, the market value in 2011 for <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">business</span> <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">process</span> management (BPM) technologies was $2.4 billion with a projected 9.65% growth rate up to 2016. The strong BPM technology market growth indicates BPM’s direct contribution to enterprise performance by achieving operational excellence and <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">process</span> agility and the increasing importance of BPM research. <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">Business</span> intelligence (BI) technologies have also gained increasing attention in recent years, which provide historical, current, and predictive views of <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">business</span> operations based on advanced data collection, extraction, and <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">analysis</span> of large data sets to improve <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">business</span> decision making. Recently, interesting and innovative concepts, technologies, and applications emerged from the intersection of BPM and BI disciplines. Examples are <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">process</span> mining, automatic <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">process</span> mapping, intelligent <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">process</span> configuration, and advanced <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">process</span> <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">analytics</span>, which can be collectively referred to as <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">Business</span> <span class="" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,204)">Process</span> Intelligence (BPI). </div>
