<div>WISH 2013: WORKSHOP ON INTERACTIVE SYSTEMS IN HEALTHCARE 2013 </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>NOVEMBER 16, 2013, WASHINGTON DC, USA, http://wish2013workshop.wordpress.com/</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Co-located with the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Annual Symposium, http://www.amia.org/amia2013.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>(1) Workshop Description</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Addressing the complex interplay among human, organizational, and technological systems in healthcare is critically important. At the intersection of these systems lies a significant research area that has the potential to impact the quality, safety, efficiency,
and effectiveness of the healthcare system in America. Although new research initiatives aim at better aligning health information technology (HIT), clinical practices, and technology design informed by best practices in human factors and human–computer interaction,
current efforts are spread out in several research communities, lacking established pathways for the transfer of knowledge and expertise.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>At WISH 2013, researchers and practitioners with interests in HIT will come together to promote deeper and more profound connections among the biomedical informatics, human-computer interaction, medical sociology and anthropology communities. The gathering
of these communities in a focused conference will lead to the development of new methods, approaches, and techniques to improve the design, adoption, and use of HIT. This workshop is designed to foster conversation, bridge communities, and develop a shared
body of knowledge.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>WISH 2013 offers an exciting program, including keynote presentations, peer-reviewed and invited panels, and interactive poster exhibitions.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>(2) Important Dates</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Submissions due: July 15, 2013</div>
<div>Notification of acceptance: August 15, 2013 </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>(3) Submissions</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>We are accepting two types of submissions: Interactive Posters and Panels. Both should be submitted as maximum two-page papers in the AMIA submission format:http://www.amia.org/amia2013/call-for-participation. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Interactive Posters provide researchers with the opportunity to highlight their work in a poster madness session and to spend time discussing their work with attendees during a poster exhibition session. Submission of Interactive Poster should include:</div>
<div>• A concise description of the idea(s)</div>
<div>• Results, findings and/or theoretical discussion</div>
<div>• The implications of the work to the interdisciplinary community</div>
<div>• Recommendations for further investigation</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>(4) How to Submit</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>All submissions should be made via the WISH 2013 EasyChair submission site: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wish2013. Once an author has created an account and logged into EasyChair, click the "Submissions" tab, click the "Add a Submission"
link on the upper right. Complete the submission instructions and then click the "Submit" button in the bottom of the form. If you have questions or need further information, please email the workshop organizers at wish2013workshop@gmail.com.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>We look forward to seeing you in WISH 2013!</div>
