<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The 34<sup>th</sup> Annual Society for Information Management’s (SIM) IT Trends Study was presented at SIM’s SIMposium 2013 conference in Boston last week. There is a wealth of information in the Trends Study
about what's going on in IT with budgets, salaries, hiring, investments, cloud, shared services, and performance measurements, as well as what’s on the minds of IT leaders and what concerns their organizations. Six-hundred-and-fifty SIM members from 484 organizations

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">2014 will mark the SIM IT Trends Study’s 35<sup>th</sup> anniversary. This is the longest-lived study of its kind in our field, predating Gartner,
<i>CIO</i> magazine, and all the rest. It is the only one managed by academics and the only one done in collaboration with the USA’s largest professional organizational of senior IT leaders. We are in the process of compiling as complete a history as possible
about the study, which began in the late 1970s as a collaboration between the MISRC at the University of Minnesota and the SIM Executive Board. If you happen to have copies of any of the old working papers, articles, or questionnaires, or any of the actual
data collected over the years, or any stories or anecdotes or related studies from the past, or anything else you think might be of interest in this historical archive, please send them to me @
