empirical or conceptual papers and symposia on all themes of interest to the
Academy that touch on organizational communications and/or information systems.
Topics that are specifically oriented to the 2015 all-Academy theme of “</span><a href="http://aom.org/annualmeeting/theme/"><span style="color: rgb(11, 91, 159); text-decoration: none; ">Open Governance</span></a><span style="color: rgb(83, 83, 83); ">” are especially
encouraged. This year’s theme encourages reflection on opportunities for
communication and information technology to improve the effectiveness and
creativity of organizations. In
particular, it calls for examination of systems and decision-making in light of
big data, crowdsourcing, and other emerging digital technologies, as well as
new approaches to collaboration, partnership, and value creation within and among
organizations. OCIS invites management,
communication, and information systems scholars to reflect on how we can
enhance the value of our research, teaching, and service, and inspire and
enable a better world.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="color: rgb(83, 83, 83); ">Division Awards: </span></b><span style="color: rgb(83, 83, 83); "> Division awards will
be presented for best program paper, best interactive paper, best student paper
and best reviewer. The Gerardine DeSanctis Dissertation Award will be presented
again at the 2015 meeting. The award, inaugurated by the OCIS division at the
2007 Annual Meeting, is open to solo-authored papers based on a dissertation
completed within the past three years (see the OCIS Division website at
<a href="http://ocis.aomonline.org/">http://ocis.aomonline.org</a> for more details). The winner of the DeSanctis Award
will be automatically nominated for the Academy-wide William H. Newman Award.
The OCIS Division will also nominate one paper for the Academy-wide Carolyn Dexter
Best International Paper Award (see the Orientation and Awards section in the
submission guidelines for more details). In addition to these program-related
awards, an award will be given for the best paper published by an OCIS member
during 2014. Finally, the division may award one or more Lifetime Service
awards.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
