 research include analytics and business intelligence, IT services, semantic web, information extraction and knowledge harvesting and sharing and related areas<span class="apple-converted-space">. The school
</span>has several strong research groups with intersecting research such as the Knowledge Discovery and Management Research Group, Centre for Distributed and High Performance Computing, Database<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span>Research Group, and
 Pattern and Data Mining Research Group.<span style="color:black"><br>

Established as the first computer science department in Australia in the 1960s, the school is research intensive and has a strong tradition of research-led teaching. The school prides itself in its successful integration and cross-fertilisation across computer
 science, information systems, and software engineering at both research and teaching levels. It offers undergraduate majors in computer science, information systems, software engineering (the latter in collaboration with the School of Electrical and Information
 Engineering) and combined programs with business, arts, science, medical science and law. SIT also offers highly regarded postgraduate coursework degrees in information technology and information technology management. The school has a vibrant and successful
 PhD program with </span>more than 90 students enrolled at a given time<span style="color:black">.<br>

</span>You must have a PhD in Information Systems (or very close to finishing) from a reputed institution, with a solid analytical background and a credible social and organisational research agenda. You must show evidence of strong research training and the
 ability to publish your research in competitive journals and conference proceedings.<span class="apple-converted-space">
</span>You will be expected to teach a range of information systems-related courses (the standard teaching load is three courses per year). A strong commitment to teaching and learning is also required as well as evidence of ability to (i)  lecture and  prepare 
 new teaching material, (ii) develop new units of study (iii) obtain competitive research funding and (iv) supervise (or be part of a supervisory team) research students.<span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p>

 to be able to start by mid-2015. Membership of a University-approved superannuation scheme is a condition of appointment.<br>

<b>Remuneration package:</b> AU$107K-AU$144K p.a (approx.US$94K-US$127K at current exchange rate), including leave loading, and 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. Visa sponsorship and some relocation support will be available if required.<br>
