Linking personal experience to </div><div class="">group and university-wide experience helps develop an evidence-based </div><div class="">view on the organisation. Sensors can, for example, easily track </div><div class="">temperature, humidity, and noise level in and outside the classroom; </div><div class="">they can also help automatically determine actual class size. In addition, </div><div class="">mobile sensing solutions can enhance social contexts and enable social </div><div class="">media, especially offline interactions mediated by mobile phones or </div><div class="">specialised sensors.<br class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><div class="">In this second workshop of the series we want to further explore </div><div class="">the possibilities of acquiring and using contextual data. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div>The main goal of the Smart University workshop series is to provide </div><div class="">a forum for the discussion of trends, research issues and practical <br class="">experiences. Ideally the workshop is able to forge shared goals <br class="">and benefit from shared experiences. In addition to presentations <br class="">this workshop will offer organised and open spaces for targeted <br class="">discussions. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">A highlight of this year's workshop will be an invited talk from </div><div class="">industry. <b class="">Federico Montella</b> (HLM architects, London) will give a </div><div class="">talk on thermal comfort in Higher Education buildings. Federico </div><div class="">studied Architectural Engineering at the Politecnico of Torino and </div><div class="">at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). He has worked in </div><div class="">Italy as a town planner and later attained an MSc in Sustainable </div><div class="">Environmental Design at the AA.
