<p class="MsoNormal"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><b><span style="color:black">The Center for Health Information and Decision Systems</span></b><span style="color:black"> (CHIDS), located in </span>the Department of Operations
& Information Technologies (DO&IT)<span style="color:black"> at the
Robert H. Smith School of Business, invites applications for a <b>postdoctoral position in Health Information
Systems Research. </b>CHIDS has a<b> </b>vibrant research agenda focused on
improving the processes, quality, and outcomes of healthcare through the
introduction and integration of information and decision technologies into the
health care system. Research conducted
in the center is multidisciplinary and applies multiple methods, both
quantitative and qualitative, to analyze, plan, and experiment with policies
and practices in healthcare. Publication
in high-quality peer-reviewed outlets is expected. CHIDS offers a nurturing environment for mentorship,

position. The successful applicant will be interested in developing and
advancing a scientific program of research in one or more of these areas. The
start date for the postdoctoral research fellow is January 1, 2015. Later start dates can be explored for the
ideal candidate. Salary will be commensurate with experience.</font></p>

<p class=""><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">60% - Develop and conduct high
quality research to be published in top tier journals</font></p>
<p class=""><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">25% - Provide research design
and technical assistance to investigators</font></p>

funding opportunities<b><u></u></b></font></p>
<p class=""><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><i>Minimum Qualifications: </i>Candidates should have a Ph.D. already
in hand or firmly expected by <b>June 2015</b>
in information systems or a relevant discipline, demonstrated ability to
publish in top academic journals, and have a record of, or potential for
excellent teaching (preferably at the MBA level) and service. </font></p><p class=""><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"></font></p>
<p class=""><i><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</font></i></p>

thorough understanding of a range of research methods and paradigms.</font></li>

of an ability to develop a line of inquiry as an independent researcher
who will be able to enhance national/international research capacity and
add value in an area of existing research strength to CHIDS</font></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Demonstrable
experience of writing papers for publication in academic journals, related
to the specified area.</font></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">A
research and/or publication plan to be developed further with the help of
the mentor.</font></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Potential
to develop proposals for funded research in the field of the fellowship.</font></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The
ability to contribute to teaching on appropriate courses at Masters
/doctoral level.</font></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Excellent
interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively.</font></li>
