to the <b>Customer Engagement in Virtual Communities</b>
mini-track at the 2015 Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) to be
held in Puerto Rico, August 13-15, 2015.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;text-align:justify">The rise of new media
channels has changed the way consumers communicate and exchange information.
Major companies have established virtual communities such as blogs, Facebook
Fan Pages, Twitter, and the like to enhance customer relationships by fostering
consumer engagement and participation on these online social platforms.
Customers join their favorite online brand communities to share their opinions,
exchange product information, and rate companies and their offerings. They can
even be involved in product development as companies solicit input from
customers in virtual communities.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;text-align:justify"> </p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;text-align:justify">Customer engagement
and participation in virtual communities has become an important area of
research in Information Systems. The main purpose of this mini-track is to
provide a forum for the exchange of research ideas and best practices related
to customer engagement in these online social platforms. It also aims to raise
awareness of the latest trends and developments in virtual communities, and
address the challenges of encouraging and managing customer engagement on these
platforms. This mini-track is open to all types of research, conceptual or
empirical. Examples of possible topics of interest include (but are not limited
