Millions of networked sensors are being embedded in devices such as mobile
phones, smart energy meters, automobiles, and industrial machines that sense,
create, and communicate data. Social media sites, smart phones, and other
consumer devices including PCs and laptops have also contributed to the deluge
of data. This has been coined as the “Big Data” problem. Furthermore, Big Data
also involves the integration of heterogeneous complex data sources, ranging
from structured to unstructured data which first must be processed to extract
the relevant information that needs to be integrated and aligned with the other
data sets. With the variety of possible data sets, typical Big Data solutions
need to cope with the volume, velocity, and variety of data. The significance
of Big Data can be observed in the process of any decision-making because Big
Data can be used for forecasting and predictive analytics. Secondly, Big Data
can be used to build a holistic view of an enterprise, which is done by
