This is shaping up to be a busy recruiting year for many of our schools, and the recruiting heat might finally be beating down the bitter cold temperatures up here in the north east US.

If you have received one or more offers this year, please participate in the Salary Survey. I was informed by two AIS community members that our numbers are small in spite of the large number of positions, and that there seems to be a bias
in the salary numbers we have reported. And given that offers are going out and considered by candidates, this is a critical time to have the best information possible.

Further, it is an offer survey, not a salary survey. That is, if you have received three offers, please report all three! And when using the data, we can filter on many fields to provide meaningful information. We can filter by position
to see what kind of offers people can expect. We can filter by only those that were accepted to get a truer picture of this particular year’s salary market. The AACSB salary survey of Deans doesn’t have salary information for first year people separate from
other non-tenured slots, so Deans cannot rely on the AACSB data.

Please navigate to
www.pitt.edu/~galletta/salsurv.html and enter your offer information. Choose the non-anonymous survey and only I will know your identity and name. Your name will not go into any databases and nobody else has access to my email account so your secrets will
be safe with me in an encrypted file. Not even my wife knows my password, and consistent with university policy, neither does my secretary or anyone on my doctoral office staff.

Some deans insist on filtering by non-anonymous entries, so those non-anonymous entries are most helpful.
